This is the second time this has happened to me. Not sure what precipitated it, perhaps closing the lid before the machine completely went to sleep? I thought last time I was messing with windows advanced power settings :dunno:

I cant change screen brightness above or below 3 bars, both on battery or ac power. A restart fixed it last time.

I have batterybar pro installed, but those power settings dont really affect anything. Otherwise I have played with the settings in my current 'theme' power saver in alien controls (same as the windows ones).

    press button
    ac-sleep
    battery-sleep

    close lid
    ac-stay on
    battery-sleep

have the auto brightness to about 50% for ac, 15% for battery, but I can always adjust it after that

In windows power management I can adjust screen brightness with the slider (or a percentage in advanced settings) but it stays locked at that brightness (can be different for battery and ac).

Any thoughts? this is pretty annoying
