    Ladies and gents,

I'm in need of a laptop cooler. Preferably one that's equal in proportion to the M11x, although I don't mind it being larger as long as the performance it delivers is better. At the moment I've been looking at the Zalman NC1500 mini cooler. It's designed for notebooks that are 12 inches. But, if you people have better ones or can suggest better ones I'd really appreciate it.

I'm also in need of a USB hub as all you know there are only 3 USB ports on the M11x. Any suggestions?

    Thank you guy's :)

I've never had heating problems with the m11x. Is your laptop overheating that bad?

Make sure you get a powered USB hub unless you're only using small devices like cell phones

If you don't think your USB needs an external power, sites like mwave usually have specials on the Kingwin USB mini-hub. Basically brances into 4 ports like a Delta, cost me $2 shipped or something

Check out the coolermaster U1, it is also made for netbooks and has a moveable fan. I got the coolermaster U2(not meant for netbooks) because it has TWO moveable fans. I like it, although it does stick out about an inch on each side.

P.s the usb plug has an adapter so it does not take up a usb port. Youtube has a couple good reviews.

Well, it isn't over heating too much but it does become noticeable if I do multiple things on it for long periods of time. Hey, better safe than sorry I say! I do also want to start leaving it on through nights whilst it downloads games from steam and I don't really want it to heat up then too.

I have the Coolermaster Notepal U1 and it fits perfectly, it doesn't stick out anywhere. The top part where the laptop sits is made of aluminum so it's a great passive cooler even without the fan. It's also very reasonably priced. You can get it for $14 which includes shipping.

Just checked for the Coolermaster Notepal U1 but here in the UK, Amazon only offers the stand itself strangely without the fan and to be honest I think the fan would really help it cool it further. Thanks for posting though kittypink & josh roberts. Any other suggestions?

Cooler Master Notepal U2 is the one that includes the fans. I just ordered it for mine and should have it sometime next week. Seems to be the best for the price.

Cheers for that Maca0716! I did have a look at it before. I've used an older model of Zalman before too and I know you get you're money's worth from them. The only thing about this model is that, I think it maybe slightly large for the m11x. What do you think mate & how well does it keep you're present laptop cool?

The U1 comes with one fan. When I ordered mine off a site here in Canada, the picture was shown without the fan but I ordered it anyway and it does come with one fan.

Thanks again kittypink. But i just confirmed that the fan is not included with the U1 here in UK. I'm leaning towards the Zalman 1500. Also, this maybe a stupid question but I just want to make sure. Does the M11x blow hot air from the bottom of the notebook or from the back? I read that if its from the bottom, its harmful to the notebook if air is just blown back into the system which is what 80% of coolers do. Anyone know anything about this?

Air intake is on the bottom. Exhaust in the back.

I ordered the Coolermaster U1, should be getting it some time this week.

Have you checked to see if the Coolermaster U2 is available in your country? It's a little big for the M11x but it has two fans.

No idea as my M11X is still in production lol

I thought it seemed large but at least the whole laptop will fit on.

I've just gone to a computer shop in my town, had a comparision between cooler master U1 and U2... the U1 doesnt fit m11x as well, some parts of top, right and left side stick out a little bit (maybe is 1 or 2cm each part)... the U2 is really big, of course. finally, i decided to go home and have more seeking :D

leo6love thanks for that. I thought it would be small. It's weird because the U1 claims that it supports up to 14 inch notebooks! Surely the entire notebook should be able to be put on it if in fact that were to be true? Anyway, I'm still researching more too. I'm having a look at the Zalman 1500 mini & Cooler master X1. Let me know if you find anything else good.

The NotePad U1 is perfect for the M11x. I have one.. Funny I came upon this thread : )

I love it! you can move the fan around.. I put the fan so it is about half way at the vent and half way down the left side.. So it helps cool the CPU area under the bottom of the laptop.
Honestly, Just the M11x sitting on top of this cooler is enough for cooling without the fan IMHO. But, nice to be safe then sorry!.. Now I can put it next to my pillow /hug. and not worry about it over heating! Now I can fall asleep watching Hulu in my dreams.

It is as if it was made for the M11x honestly! It is so light.. You can put the M11x inside it ( turning it over and removing the fan via push button release..) for protection.. as seen at there website. ( I have not done this . I have a case )

    Cooler Master

It makes the M11x look like a suped up Trans Am!

Got mind at Microcenter for 14.99.. Frys has it for 19.99

Waiting for my other M11x to arive from Dell Outlet as I took the Best Buy one back .. But I wouldn't have any other cooler honestly. It is perfect as I have left the M11x on all night with no issue on this.

This here is a good available in the form of thermapak pads. I've checked one out for my lap and it looks to be promising. Above and all it's the silence of the system and it's ability to be folded along with my laptop that sold me.

I have the U1, bought from the UK and it has no fan but doesn't seem to need one. Perfect size though, can't see it when using the m11x.
