    Hello,

Im brand new to the whole PC laptop world. I just bought an m11x from a fellow coorker who was in need of some quick cash for 400 bucks. So far, i think i am in love with this thing. Im an old school PC gamer when BF1942 came out, but have been on the PS3's nuts for the last 4 years and havent had a decent PC for that whole time.

I do have a question, as noob as it may sound. How can i tell if i have an
    r1 or r2 version of m11x?

Also, are there any tricks or tips i can do to improve gaming? I set the cpu to "overclock" in the bios already, and updated my nvidia geforce 355m to the latest drivers.

I can run BFBC2 ok, averaging 30-35 fps, but i tried to play Total Empire (or whatever the demo from steam is called) and it seemed to run sluggishly. Im checking framerates with fraps.

Thanks, and I am already glad i found this forum, it looks great!!

    R1 has the Core2Duo, R2 has the i5, i7 series.

Have fun with your new toy, you've come to the right place. And remember the dumbest questions are those that go unasked.
