Hi and sorry for my english..

I just order last week an m11x r2 and I am really noob using computers for gaming (Its my first reel one). So I will play SC2 and I want the best performance possible. What do I need to do to increase my computer performance? I heard about overclocking the i7 and turn turbo boost off in the BIOS.. Its simple? Necessary? What about ThrottleStop or something like that?

Also, you think that I'm going to have to update the drivers for optimus?
Or they install it during the production?

Sorry if a thread probably exist like that, but its hard for me to find my way out there.

    Thx, Gus.

well I haven't played much SC2 besides the free demo, But from what I have gathered from other games like BFBC2 that are very CPU extensive it would wise to download throttlestop, as it maximizes performance while you are overclocked (and I am thinking if you want the best performance you will need to overclock). As for the drivers I am not sure, I would assume the latest drivers will not be installed. I have been using 260.99 and have been very happy(except BFBC2 has issues while playing online).

If you have other questions about throttlestop ask here---> http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m11x/524257-how-supercharge-m11x-core-i5-i7-um-cpus.html

I get decent performance in SC2 with almost all the settings as high as they go. It is possible you are running it on the intel chip. Have a look at the nvidia optimus issues thread, i belive it's stickied.

Starcraft II will run decently at default medium settings, un-overclocked. 2v2 or 3v3 games should run okay. I had the framerate dip to 17 only briefly during an intense battle with many units on screen.

Right now I'm running Starcraft II with high textures, but low shaders. It's a good compromise between performance and visuals, I've found, and the framerate is a steady 60-80 FPS throughout.

The key is to tweak Starcraft II until you find settings that work for you. When playing Starcraft, I much prefer performance over looks... Lag can spell your doom, especially when trying to mobilize your forces.

A lot of people love to say the M11x will run Starcraft II at Ultra, but the reality is that it may work for single player... but battle.net? forget about it. In fact, once a lot of units start hitting the screen the M11x really starts to have trouble maintaining a steady framerate. These are the facts. I really don't want any misconceptions when people say Starcraft II runs ultra... there's this implication that you can just tick "Ultra" on the settings bar and have a pleasant gaming experience. As a general rule, if your FPS is about 80 at the start of the game, expect that framerate to be cut in half late game with many units on screen. If your framerate is 40 or even 50 at the start of the game, definitely expect slowdowns late-game. This isn't estimation on my part, this is what I've experienced first-hand playing battle.net games almost every night. I've tried multiple drivers, and it doesn't really change the fact that the processor is what is holding you back here.... but that's to be expected folks. I really hope you guys didn't buy your M11x with the expectation of playing games like this at Ultra settings. You'll just set yourself up for disappointment :D
