Well, there appears to be this idea, widely accepted if I may say, that a clean install of windows 7 will increase performance because it will result in the "cleaning" of all bloatwares and other unnecessary softwares that Dell seems to think we need.
But having said that, I haven't seen any data proving that a clean install will result in a significant boost in performance, and seeing as my M11x, still with the OS it came with, is zippy as roadrunner on steroids, I don't see the merit of installing a fresh OS.
    well...that's my 2 cent. Hope I helped.

Throttle stop, Momentus XT, EVGA precision, 4GB RAM min, Flux Capacitor*.

    * Will require plutonium stolen from Libyan nationalists to provide the 1.21 gigawatts required....may reduce battery life.

    Yes

    YouTube - Seagate Momentus XT

And when I'm playing the same game, the load times get , much shorter after the first 2 times I play.

Because that benchmark only tests first time seen data, so the 4GB of solid state mem in the drive is never used because there is no repeated data to be chached, Thus it performs in the middle of the pack for 2.5" 7200 RPM drive

And even with that, upon looking further, it still beat out damn near all 2.5" HDD on that list
