I figured with black friday coming and folks getting new orders in daily, I thought I'd make a thread so we can discuss the latest news regarding the slim line adapter DJN5T.

I got my order in from dell outlet refurbished today and it had the standard bulky adapter UU572

Just got off the phone with AW tech support, the guy spent a while checking for me and was willing to ship me out a new slim line DJN5T but I guess they are out of stock, so I'd just be getting 'most likely' the same adapter I have now in the mail. The wattage is the same, not concerned about that but my invoice has the slim adapter number, so I guess I will call back in a month or two and see what they have to say.

Let's see what you guys are getting with your m11x's. And let use know what the tech support people say if you call an ask for the swap.

Here are my threads for dealing with the bulky POS a/c adapter that came with my system from the dell outlet store.

So I spent 5 hours on the phone adding all the days I called with customer service, alienware tech support, order support and some other department and no one could help me. So many BS information was given to me. One of them was that the M11xR2 didn't come with a slim a/c adapter and that it only work with the R1 version. Another BS was that the slim adapter would not work for the type of specs on my R2 system.

A member here (BatBoy) was kind enough to post this link below for escalated support.

After a few days I was surprised to get a call from Dell and he ask me to explain to him what the issue was with my order and how we could get it solve. After 5 minutes the dell rep told me that the correct a/c adapter will be sent with overnight shipping. The following day I got the correct a/c adapter. Just make sure you have a case number handy and call alienware support first. If it doesn't work out get the case number and fill out the form provided on the post above.

    The correct part number is

Hope this helps you guys out. I refuse to carry a nice portable laptop with a big bulky a/c adapter that looks like 5 years old.
