Need to keep twisting and turning the charging wire to make R1 recognize that it's plugged in to charge

Hello everyone, I haven't been on this forum for ages. But now I think my M11X R1 is ready to break down and I was out of warranty 2 years ago. The hinges are broken (which is supposed to be getting fixed soon by a Dell technician) and now the M11X won't charge unless I twist and turn the input of the charging wire around in the laptop's charging port. I only need to know if it's the charger or the little thing inside the laptop that is the output. I have a fear that it's the output/port in the laptop, I can get the hinges repaired but not the output because I'm out of warranty and I'm not sure if they will fix my charging problem as well. I don't think it's the actual battery's problem itself, anyone have any clues?
