Sorry for the multitude of post the past few days but since I have got my r2 everything I have read is not working.

After receiving my computer I installed some window updates, Norton, office, ect ect. I then proceeded to start increasing my r2's performance from what I have read of the forums. I installed Throttlestop and MSI Afterburner, then rebooted to overclocked from bios.

This is where I found my first problem.... Correct if im wrong after setting OC to 166 I should be able to check properties on My Computer and see the upgrade from 1.07 to 1.66, yes?? I have set up my profiles on ThrottleStop 30/30-8 and 100/100-8 just havent applied it yet since im weary of the change not showing on My Computer.

Also whats the best way to get max battery while searching on the internet? right now im on balanced power mode and am only getting 3 1/2-4 of battery life.
    Thanks Guys!!!

Im not sure about the O/C stuff but i have got 7.3 hours out of mine.. (R1)

    Powersaver mode
    Dim all the way down
    turn off Alien FX
turn off bluetooth if not in use..
OC off (not sure if that matters or not)

I believe whitelisting is done by selecting the nVidia control panel and adding .exe games, however some users have reported their whitelist vanishing with certain drivers, so if that's the case, you may need to rollback or find a different driver.

Isn't there a tailored driver here on the forums that the majority of users use?

Maybe you should first use the computer as stock before overclocking. You may find that you're completely satisfied with the computers performance. Also you can take this time to thoroughly research overclocking your R2.

Also generally speaking, if you're overclocking then you’re increasing the amount of electricity being sent to the CPU. This will decrease the battery life. As a result, you should expect a decrease in battery performance as you increase the CPU performance.

This is coming from a R1 owner, which I've overclocked, so unfortunatly I can't help too much with experience in overclocking an R2.

That's the integrated graphics display control panel. The Nvidia control panel should be available by right clicking on the background and choose Nvidia Control Panel (unless it is different for the m11x?). That's where it is on my desktop and MSI laptop.

Well I have been researching this about a hour or two a day since I ordered 2 weeks ago so I have a pretty good idea on what I should do... From what I read when you overclock in bios it SHOULD first be stable then if so you can check your "system"'s page to see if the effect took place.... mine is not.
I know without throttlestop OC may not even help but before i use throttle I want to know if I am OC to 166 the pic below should not be showing 1.07, right??

What does it show in CPU-Z? That is going to show true real-time CPU speeds

use CPU-Z. Windows will not report your overclock.
I can get about 7 hours on my R2 i5. I made a thread listing what I did and then asking for more options but no one responded. My discharge rate was 9.3 Whrs with total capacity of 65Whrs while browsing the internet.

EDIT: Here is the thread. http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m11x/551219-lowering-discharge-rate.html

there are multiple videos on youtube that show the over clock under the computer's systems properties...

YouTube - Overclock tutorial on a Alienware M11x <------ this is a video for a R1 at the end it shows the 1.3 going to a 1.73

    Also thanks for battery tips

System properties is not, repeat, not going to show you your R2's overclock. CPU-Z, ThrottleStop and a whole slew of other utilities will though.
