Hi, I have been having some problems with my M11X r2 for a while now. I do not have any warranty :(, and I hope someone here can help.

    1) Say I am watching a movie on the M11X. If I check the battery indicator before the movie, it might say 3 hours. 1 hour into the movie it will still say 3 hours if I check, and if I press FN + F4 to change screen bightness, then it suddently updates to 2 hours. So the laptop seems to go into this weird mode when I don't click on something for a while (or suddently), it snaps out of it by using commands. Some times it won't start .exe files aswell. It will load the program forever, if I press to change brightness, then it opens. Sometimes the bar at the bottom of the screen also freezes, I can not click anything on it, but pressing FN +F4/F5 makes it all go back to normal.

FIXED 2) When I run 3dmark06 on battery I get 4500, when I run it on power I get 6800. I have installed windows 7 several times, and encountered this before, but it went away. On my latest windows 7 install I get this problem. GPU-Z also won't show details on the Gt335m when on battery. When on power details are shown, when I unplug the power it says "GPU-Z.exe has stopped workin."

    3) When downloading a patch of a game or a torrent, the laptop freezes after about 10 minutes in. Have to manually shut down computer. Can't update Bad company 2 for example.

So what do you guys think? I fear that I need to send it to Dell for repairs (duh?). Do you know what might be the problem? What the costs might be? I do not have warranty. I have installed windows 7 several times. At first I was having the explorer.exe has stopped working error, and computer would kinda freeze, by pressing FN F4/F5 would make everything normal again. Next time I installed windows 7 I did not get that error, but computer still need the FN + F4/F5 to be pressed, and I do it maybe every 10 minutes using the computer.

Any help is very much appriciated, thanks and peace! :)

If fresh installing windows solves problems, its probably software problem.

Getting low score is normal when running on battery .

Fresh install does not solve problems I am having. I have done 3 or 4 installs, experiencing the same things.

it has to do with your power options it is adjusting to what you are doing if you modify your power option settings you can fix all of that there i had to also use a patch to stop the computer from going standby mode from lack of activity when watching movies or playing games using a controller its wasnt detecting activity and was giving my laptop all sorts of problems just google around im sure you will find it i dont remember site sorry

So you don't think it's a hardware problem? Because I get this error EVERY time I install windows 7. And this mode the computer get's into, it's standby mode? Because it doesn't fall asleep or anything, randomly while working on the computer it goes into this mode, sometimes watching movies too, but mostly random. And only way I know to make it snap out of it is to use FN + F4.

That patch sounds really interesting. Didn't find it yeasterday, but I'll try googling it again.

Now my only other problem is that the computer freezes when downloading something, torrents and game updates, any suggestions? Maybe I should buy a better network card?

Have you tried downloading a patch through the LAN? If that would work successfully, then you might have a faulty wifi card?
