    My Overclock results for R2 set to 166 mhz in BIOS

    Is this a reasonable result? Looks like it only overclocks to 1.5?? I have had no BSOD's but I've only played Portal and Half Life 2 so have not really "pushed it". Been running overclocked to the max since I received the laptop.

    Turbo boost only works on one core. So it's possible that you're getting a single core to 2.5ghz, but both cores can run at 1.5.

    IIRC that's about what mine posts in cpu-z and sandra.

    Right click the main window of CPUz, select "Core 1"

    Actually Turbo Boost happens on both cores, but it increases the first core a little more than the other :D


    To the OP, yep, 1.5ghz is as far as the base clock goes when overclocked. Make sure you check to see if it's stable at 166mhz because not every laptop is :)
