    My mic does not work anymore, I dont know what did but I need to find a driver or something. I have the first M11x...I dont know if it's called the R1 or the plain m11x.

    It's commonly known as the M11xR1 (the R1 stands for revision 1).

    No idea why your mic would stop working but in all honesty I wouldn't worry about it - it's not that good. Go get a decent headset with a Mic (like a Razer carcharias), or a standalone USB mic such as the Samson ones.

    This. Even though I use my on occasion when I am travelling. I'd recommend the Logitech G35.

    HOWEVER, if you think its broken and not something software related then you could always call Dell Support and send it in to get it replaced (that is if you are off of your warranty)

    Very strange that a mic would just "stop working" and since you are asking about drivers you must suspect software. I'm not trying to offend, but have you tried the obvious?

    Control Panel -> Sound -> Recording -> Microphone ...
    • Device Disabled?
    • Device Muted?
    • Device level turned down?
    • Device disabled while on battery?

    Control Panel -> Device Drivers ...
    Showing as disabled or non-functioning (sound card)?

    Typically you can pay for it to be repaired if I am not mistaken

    I know it's a driver...In 'Recording' it has "No audio devices are installed"
