su7300 overclocked and gt335m at stock clocks (driver 8.17.11.9712, 2nd official dell driver I think)
1366x768, 0xAA, 16xAF, Medium Shadows, Ambient Occlusion Off, Geometry Detail High, Physx Off
24.9 fps on the fixed benchmark (had a few dips around 15 showing on fraps, not smooth enough for me)
11.9 fps on the fixed benchmark (all max settings, 1366x768, No Physx)
11.8 fps on the fixed benchmark (all max settings, 1366x768, Physx High)
Below is listed the fraps scores from the demo stage at the 1st settings listed, before I died (need to remap the controls bad) I skipped the videos so they weren't benched
Frames ___ Time (ms) ___ Min ___ Max ___ Avg
10688 _____ 343634 ____ 15 ____ 53 ___ 31.1
I know it was just a short demo but to me it felt like it would play alot better with a gamepad. I would consider renting the game for the Xbox360 or buying it for $10 on a Steam Deal but don't think I'll be buying it new. -
man, how did you get it to work? I downloaded it off steam, but every time i press play, it just doesn't start. Anyone else with an R2 come across this problem?
nofxman, you should download the new Physics driver. It's supposed to fix key issues in Mafia II. -
-
I'm using the 258.96 drivers. no luck
Updated fix: okay. apparently it's not a driver issue. I looked for the problem on the mafia II forums and people are having the same problem. What you have to do is go to steam games library, right-click on mafia 2 -> properties -> language, and switch your language, wait for it to download, and switch it back to English again. Try it; I'm not sure if it works yet.
