Hi, I have an M11xR3 that's about a year old. I didn't order it with Bluetooth, but i now want to add it, so i called Dell and they're sending me:
    Item Number: G9M5X - 375 Bluetooth adapter

A few days later, we got a new dual band router, and I got thinking that i would like to upgrade my wifi card also so i could use 5Ghz. I called Dell again, and asked if i could get a combo card, wifi and bluetooth, (since i know adding the bluetooth adapter itself is a pain), and the guy told me he could send me a combo card, so he's sending me:
    Item Number: DN7WF - I think it's an Intel 6250

After researching the 6250 card, i couldn't find anywhere that mentioned it was a combo card, so i called Dell again and asked. The third guy said the 6250 is not a combo card, it's wifi/wimax only. (Good thing i hadn't canceled my original bluetooth order yet)

Both items were delayed, so i haven't gotten either yet.. but after more research, i'm wondering if i could just get either a 6235 card, which appears to be real wifi/bt combo cards (i saw mention of a 6230 card also, but i assume the 6235 is just newer?). I can order this card via Amazon (or some other online store) instead of waiting for Dell's endless delays.

So, i was looking in the forums here to see if anyone has used a 6235 card in an M11x (or an M14x)? and does is it a true dual band / bluetooth combo card?

So i got home today and my wireless card from Dell was delivered. It was supposed to be an Intel 6250 card. What came is something with a model number of SK9210TX-HS. From searching google, all I can find is it's called a "Wireless VAN" card by SiBEAM. Anyone ever heard of a VAN card?

I tried installing it, didn't show up as a wireless card.. showed up as something to do with USB...

Maybe it's supposed to say "Wireless WAN" instead of VAN? Anyways, I found evidence that the 17xR3 may come with one. Maybe click around in the m17xR3 driver page?

Best i could tell it has something to do with "virtual area network".. i dunno... i got the 6235 card Thursday.. put it in place of the original wifi card... works great.. connects to 5ghz and the bluetooth works fine.. :)

So for anyone else that might be searching for an answer.. the Intel 6235 works great in an M11xR3...

Ordered another 6235 to replace the 2210 in our other laptop too, an M14xR2.. i expect it should work fine there as well..

Got them from MWave.com.. great place to buy if anyone is interested..
