I found this Dell version of ubuntu on the website and was wondering if anyone uses this OS for there m11x because I was wondering trying it. I really like the gui and Im assuming it will give better battery life since its Linux

On the legacy laptop that I replaced with the m11x I'd get about 25% more battery life with ubuntu than with xp. I doubt that any variant of *nix will allow gpu switching so if you use the 335 your battery life will probably take a hit.
I'd recommend first installing with wubi to see if you like gnome and all the other trappings of ubuntu before you dual boot or switch entirely. I think there's already a thread about *nix on the m11x, you should probably search for it. -

Yeah but they support the 335M GT card or the Integrated one but you can have the optimus feature is what I've read...
I'm trying to squeeze every ounce of battery life out of my m11x I don't care if its an extra 10 minutes, I WANT IT.. So thank you for your helpful advise CapnBoost -
You can disable the nVidia by using acpi_call. There's a guide specific for m11xr2. It's not hard to follow if you know a little about linux.
