This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     M11xR2 Truecrypt with Hardware Encryption support

    I have used TrueCrypt to encrypt the Windows partition on my M11xR2's 500Mb drive.

    The process was fairly straight forward and took about 5hrs (or so it estimated but left it running while I slept). If considering this read the user guide or search the web there are quite a few walk through.

    Ok now I only did the windows partition as this leave the factory restore partition untouched and still available without entering the encrypted partition.

    Now the main point of this post... in the past TruCrypt has come with an overhead as the CPU has to handle encryption of the data to/from the drive. However, it now supports the hardware acceleration in the core-i 5&7 UM chips ( see here)

    Running the TrueCrypt benchmark you can see AES is substantially faster than others (see pic). Also my WEI drive score remand the same, which surprised me.
