I recently bought L4D2 over the steam Christmas sale for about $4. I played it on default settings for awhile but I realized this notebook can handle it most likely on max settings. While my first attempts to put all settings on MAX resulted in the game crashing. After a few minutes of tweaking I isolated the problem to whether/if I increased the shader value over "MEDIUM" (The scale is Low - Very High) the game would crash... Can anyone help/give me some detail/info on this?

L4D2 runs perfects on high settings on the M11x(without Vsync). However, in the past few weeks everyone(all types of computers) is reporting the game crashing. For me it usually happens when i try to join a game.

After reverting back to the Dell recommended drivers 257.xx the game runs perfect with 100+ FPS on settings maxed but now im also back to this punkbuster bull.. Theres clearly an issue with the new 266.xx drivers... Dell REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY needs to get there together and update
