I will create an OL once this hits the US site. For order status, we will continue to use the 11x Order Status thread.

    Thanks.

$1100 USD for the i3 (no turboboost)?!?!?! lmao!! Im glad I got mine with core 2 duo and 4gb of ram for around $700 USD :D!

    Edit:

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow they will offer Overclock and turbo boost! look!

Take mobile gaming to the next level with the optional overclockable Intel® CoreTM i series of mobile processors. Intel Turbo Boost Technology enables the optional Intel® CoreTM i7 640UM to reach 2.66GHz maximum frequency and helps you power through games, multimedia applications and your daily routine all at the same time.

One thing i think people should be aware of is that products cost differently over seas. True, the conversion from the website is 1100, however, i still expect to see at max 899 in the states.

You can't compare the us pricing with the one used in the rest of the world. The m11x with SU7300, 500GB HDD, 4GB RAM and bt is about 1200$ list price in germany :p

So, we have confirmed i3 and i5 with Optimus.

Strange thing is that it currently looks like the i7 is not supposed to be there right now. You add customize to the i7-640UM, however the lay-out is as though there should be only the i3 and i5 options. Also, the tech specs show all as 'i3 and i5 only' instead of 'i3, i5, and i7 only'.

Could it be that the i7 will be available later?

Not right...on the Malyasian-Site there is the option of choosing the i7 core...On my screen it was hidden under some letters...zoom or scroll and you will find it...

That's what I mean. The i7 is there, but from the layout it seems that there is only room for 2 options and the i7 is hidden under some letters.

Normally I would not make much of this, but considering the i7 is not included in the detailed tech specs page it could be significant. Why does it only say 'availabe for i3 and i5' and not i7?

Nice, so the waiting is coming to be worth after all.

The i7 processor that will probably be used seems to be the

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-640UM Processor(1.20Ghz, 4 Threads, turbo boost up to 2.26GHz, 4M cache) add RM 684.00

How much is it RM 684.00 in dollars?

I'm excited now, so supposing dell makes the i7 upgrade around the $200-$300

Will this specs and price could be a great offer?

Intel Core i7-640UM Processor (1.20Ghz, 4 Threads, turbo boost up to 2.26GHz, 4M cache)
    1GB NVIDIA GT 335M
    4GB Dual Channel DDR3
    500GB SATAII 7,200RPM

All this for a estimated price of $1200-$1300 with some discounts.

What would you think about this offer?

Is it possible, that theres a new Display inside?!!!

I compared the malaysian with the german site:

    Malaysian (M11x R2): 11.6" WideHD 720p WLED (1366x768)

    German (M11x): 11,6-Zoll-WideHD-LCD mit (1.366 x 768) (720p)

    see....LCD against WLED....

    this have to be a new Dsiplay....like x-mas.... :)

edit: or its just a translation-prob, cause on the us site theres also the WLED announced...with the old C2D..

    US (M11x): 11.6-inch WideHD 1366x768 (720p) WLED

    ...no xmas...;-(

BTW, same display - no matte offering, nor are there any plans for one as previously discussed in several other threads. Search is your friend...

I like the price I paid for mine... If the i5 would be $200 more, I'd consider returning mine, but I'm thinking that I'm better off with my price/config until Dell breaks my heart a day after my return policy expires :p

I was reading more about the i7 640UM and it says it is much faster than a Core 2 Duo SL9300 (1.6 GHz) with this you will have an idea of how powerful this i7 core will be and I think it looks like a decent upgrade compared to the previous processors. This will finally make me decide to buy it as I didn't only wanted to play games but do some processor related tasks as well.

Yes, but Best Buy would give store credit, not my money back. Unless Best Buy is going to be getting in the R2 at around Dell's launch date, I'm pigeonholed.

    E: Answered my own question:

M11x doesn't have that processor; I assume you're comparing to another notebook?

No, I'm comparing it to this laptop, on some countries the refresh has already taked place and it seems this processor is the one that will be used.

Yes it does, the Core i7-640UM has a integrated graphics card.

What i was trying to do is comparison between the i7 core that may be available to this laptop and a core 2 duo, the SL9300 i guess it is faster the the actual processors or at least similar if they are oc, so starting from that point you can guess the performance of this laptop with an i7 processor.

Notebookcheck ( Notebookcheck: Mobile Processors - Benchmarklist) puts it this way:

    i7-640UM at rank 141
    SL9300 at rank 142
    SU7300 at rank 204

All at stock speeds, so the differences could be small if the SL9300 and SU7300 have OC and the i7-640UM would not.

The 'Design' Tab has been partially updated and has some interesting information (which could be a typo):

"Take mobile gaming to the next level with the optional overclockable Intel® CoreTM i series of mobile processors. Intel Turbo Boost Technology enables the optional Intel® CoreTM i7 640UM to reach 2.66GHz maximum frequency and helps you power through games, multimedia applications and your daily routine all at the same time."

It says the i7-640UM is optional to overclock and together with Turbo Boost would reach 2.66GHz, while the stock Turbo Boost is just 2.26GHZ. This could point to an overclock option.

On the other hand, it still says graphics are switched manually.

    page also has this:

    Over 2,811 3DMark Vantage Performance Score!5
    Over 1,300 3DMark Vantage Extreme Score!6
Reached a maximum frames per second of 92 with an average of 54 when playing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 2

The MW2 was done on a i7-640UM with 4GB RAM, would give a nice insight into FPS improvement compared to the SU7300. Detail settings not known. Think the 3DMark ones are with SU7300, as it says they were performed 01-2010, while the MW2 was 05-2010

Battery Life: It says "increased performance while maintaining long battery life".
