Hi all, I’ve had my m11x-r2 (i7, 320gb, 4gb, 335M) for the last 9 months now and am very happy with it, but as newer games are coming out and also starting my foundation degree in graphics design I have a feeling that I may need an upgrade, how easy is it to upgrade the components of the laptop?

Is it just a case of buying the new hardware (ram and processor mostly) and just replacing the old with the new?

    Many thanks

    Symon

You can see here how easy it is to replace the components : ‪Alienware M11x
Ram-Battery-HDD/SSD are the easiest parts to upgrade.
On the other hand, the processor is soldered to the motherboard. So as far as i know, you cant upgrade the processor.

Not much point in upgrading tbh, R3 specs won't do you much good. I'd wait for an R4 if there is ever one.
