Hello again all, I finally got my student finance through (wohoo!) and have just purchased Corsair 2x4GB 1066 204-pin DDR3 RAM from amazon, compared to the box standard 2x2GB i have in there at the moment, what do you guys predict the performance increase will be roughly, and where will I see this performance increase the most? I am mostly using 3DS MAX 2010, Adobe Photoshop and sometimes like to play Starcraft 2 and CSS.

    Many thanks in advance

    Symon

gaming not so much but i think the screen is way too small for 3DS and photoshop....use an external monitor.

I don't think you're going to see any performance increases at all, to be honest.

It will be ale to load more programs at once, but increasing the amount of RAM generally doesn't change performance at all. The RAM frequency of the R2 is dependent on the CPU frequency; At stock clocks it's throttled to 800MHz, my CPU frequency is at 150MHz so my RAM is now at 900MHz. honestly, i can't tell the difference.

So all-in-all your multitasking ability will increase, but other than that i don't think you'll notice a difference.
