I just got my m11x r2 yesterday, and having some troubles with the pre-installed McAfee, everything works perfectly, it can automatically update. But the Firewall shuts off automatically, even I manually turn it on, it'll shuts off by itself in 2secs. Anyone know how to fix this?

Uninstall it and get Avast instead. McAfee is a waste of time.

That's funny. My R2 (which came this morning) didn't have Mcafee preinstalled. I installed MS security essentials instead. Avast is just as good if not better, but I prefer essentials because of its tiny footprint and speed.

Remove McAfee, it's too expensive, hoggy on the laptop, and why pay for a program that free ones do better?

Get Security Essentials, AVG Free, Panda Cloud, or Avast.

I'm from Australia and the laptop came with a 15months McAfee. Don't really wanna waste it. What should I do?

That's sort of like finding 10 lbs of McDonalds food for free. Sure, it's a waste to not eat it all, but is it good for you to do it?

Similarly, McAfee is bloatware and doesn't have as good virus detection as other software, so though it may be free, it's not good for your computer to use it. Avast and Microsoft Security Essentials are free anyway, so you're not going to need to spend money if you get rid of it.

McAfee will make your laptop run slower, while protecting it less then the above mentioned AV programs. So it's a Lose/Lose situation with mcafee, go with one of the free ones, it's a Win/Win (faster laptop/more protection) add another Win for the fact they are Free. (I use Microsoft Security Essentials)
