    Hi, bluetooth is enabled in BIOS, however it's no where to be seen in Windows 7, no icon nor in icon tray nor in device management ....

    Does this mean i have no bluetooth? or it's just not installed

    When you bought your laptop was it something you opted for? Is it available in your country?

    Did you check if your missing drivers under device manager? All this can be figured out by going to the dell downloads page for drivers and support as well as checking out your configuration to confirm you did in fact get bluetooth. You could have it enabled in the bios yet still not have the actual module.

    Generally speaking, if you have it, it should be available to use out of the box.

    I have checked dell's download page but there doesn't seem to be any drivers for it. The laptop was purchased from UK DELL, which i assumed was standard with bluetooth :confused:

    However now I'm slightly worried, would you say even if Bluetooth is enabled in BIOS doesn't mean the machine has bluetooth? :eek:

    Many thanks for the reply

    Yeah I also have bluetooth enabled in BIOS despite the fact that I actually don't have bluetooth adapter in my laptop. One way of checking... Login to Dell Support website, type in your service tag and then it will show your configuration. There it should say bluetooth if you have. I don't have it and it doesn't show on my list:

    Excellent reply and so much help, no bluetooth is listed which is shocking as a search on google/cnet states;

    UK M11x customers get a 320GB, 7,200rpm hard drive, 2GB of DDR3 1,066MHz memory and Bluetooth as standard

    Time to return this M11X as i have been misinformed :mad:

    And get one with bluetooth :mad:

    Many thanks in advance

    Can't you just order the bluetooth adapter and install it?

    I could, is it easy? I am fairly confident around computer hardwares.

    My only worry is the M11x is not even a week old, so is it worth it and will it still have warranty if i install it myself?

    If it's only a week old just call back and let them know it doesn't meet your needs and you'd like to return it. That way when you reorder it's covered under the warranty.

    If bluetooth is available in your country, it will show up as a low cost option at point of sale. If is not included by default. Unfortunately, it is somewhat difficult to install due to the location (under the palmrest) and likely isn't available as a customer kit (e.g. without a DSP install). If it is available in your region and your sales person didn't offer you the option, you might consider giving them a call to see if they can work something out for you.
