    Hello everyone,

I know this topic has been mentioned several times before but, I just wanted to check what would be the best card I can replace on my m11x r2 that would give me better wi fi range. I am currently using the stock dell card and the wi fi keeps disconnecting because my router is placed quite far. According to my research I think it was the intel 6200 but, I read it has some issues. Please if anyone knows what is the best card for such a thing paste the link below where I could buy it :D

    Many thanks :)

6205/6250 is a very good upgrade. I have one of each in each of my M11x's and they are great. Some people like the 'Killer' cards - I don't, they are simply Atheros cards with custom software. Rip-off.

Dell doesn't whitelist WLAN cards like Lenovo/HP. 6200 is a pretty nice card, but TBH I've owned 6200/6205/6250/6300 and haven't had issues with any of them.

I have run both the 6200 and the killer cards.

They both are about the same really. The intel got better range, but the killer card has a smoother download speeds.

I currently run my M11r1 with the standard dell card, would all of these mentioned work as well?

Yes either card would work just fine for you.

I painted it my self. You have to strip down the whole chassis, take everything apart, then you can paint it, then put it back together.

I've used the standard R1 card, the intel6200, and now the killer 1102. There is no comparison in MY case - the 1102 was bounds better.

My stock card was ok or fine in function. I only changed it because it was damaged during some maint.

6200 was best at locking up my computer*. It was unpredictable. Might have a freeze several times in an hour or no problem for 5 - then BAM! Load didn't matter nor did any of the other tricks talked about here. It DID have GREAT range.

1102 is within the 90% of range results for intel and gives me (drumroll) the best performance for audio calls/downloads of the three. Never tested latency but pings to servers abroad are better - this is important. Because of the hops my pings "suck" generally. So if I can break into the less sucky zone it clears up my calls reducing the measurable lag in conversation.

I am NOT using the software that came with it. Just the actual driver in the download pack. No issues with itunes.

I still would not buy the 1102 if my orig had not broken. The performance is better now but I would have spent the $ and shipping hassle on something else. Voice lag? I wouldn't know any better. :)

*some theory about chipset being related to explain why some have no issues while others have a lot.
