Just curious what you ordered it with, and if I can get your order number. I'm trying to get Dell to figure out why my order isn't being built/sent out yet. And they said to get some order numbers from people that have received theirs, or ones that have shipped.

Dell is doing a fabulous job pushing these units out.

Seems the average wait time is:
    > 4-5 business days from the order date
    > Shipping (depending on what you picked)

What's your estimated delivery date? Around 5/15? If it is, why would you be upset. That's weeks from now.

Because it doesn't make sense for units that were ordered AFTER mine would ship BEFORE mine.

Thus getting a little upset. Not like shooting spree I hate everyone upset, but upset due to it doesn't seem like the orders are being processed in the proper order.

But it's still before the estimated date. You might have picked a certain configuration that is waiting on a backordered part. This is why Dell has dates that go far back. Their estimated delivery date gives them time if a part shortage or some other problem comes up. I wouldn't get mad about it, even if others are receiving theirs first. Your laptop will arrive when it's ready.

You're right, an international company such as Dell processes their orders without any procedures, I heard they just pick orders out of a hat and the ones that have been in the hat for weeks are just S.O.L.

Do not respond to this guy...Dell would never ask someone to give another non dell person information like order numbers. Also do not give out serial numbers or service tags.

Actually, they did. I spoke with India support quite a few times today, and the guy said for any way to compare why someone elses system shipped before mine that he would need to compare it to another order. Thats why I was asking. I don't care anymore, as my order finally hit Shipping Preperations. I swear, any support in India sucks, always problems. But US support is way better.

Honestly, I think the guy was just trying to get me off the phone, because no other agent asked me or would look into another order number that wasn't mine. (Friend gave me his order number)

maybe oakley is telling the truth....

but considering he has a grand total of 7 posts to this site doesn't help his cause.

sorry bud, but in a world where every other person is trying to rip you off, i wouldn't tell you how old my favorite pair of shoes are

for those who are waiting longer than others with earlier order dates:

what did you config your m11x to? there is another thread that is talking about perhaps there being a delay with those who picked the 750 gig HD. it might be something like that.

mine will arrive tomorrow and i did pretty much standard config except i7 upgrade

I can understand resistance, but not much you can do with an order number. :) I don't need it any more anyway, mine is finally getting ready to ship so I'm happy. I joined back in 2007, just never got around to posting much.

Anyway, mine was pretty basic, 8 gig, i7, and the 750gig hd. Friend had basically the same setup, but his shipped first. Hopfully I get it tomorrow or Friday, since I'm having it shipped to my work.

I have Neb.Red, 8gb ram, i7,bluetooth, best you can get wifi adapter, reg HDD since i can buy and external cheaper, will never need that much space anyway. I chose them to download wow on it, witch i thought would take longer. So all that and my laptop is just maybe 70miles away from me right now and will be here around 1pm :D. I dont know what im going to use it for, i thought it looked nice so i bought it.

Glad to hear yours shipped. And I can understand your frustration, since I felt a little bummed reading on here how a bunch of people's configs had shipped/were delivered and mine was stuck on in production (course, mines on my way now :) )

There actually is a decent amount you could do with an order #, the only other thing you need is a zip code, as you can look up orders on dell.com with those two and find out all the details. I'm just pretty sensitive to people out there trying to get personal information; I've had facebook's hacked, email, etc., and now with the PSN getting hacked, it seems like everyone is out to get me

    lol

After speaking with support a few hours yesterday, and getting transfered all over. I can say with a pretty good certainty that you cant do damn near anything with just the order number. :) Everytime I gave it to them, I always... _ALWAYS_ had to give them my name, address, and phone number. No if's and's or but's. So I might be able to look at what you ordered, but not much else.

Yeah, the whole PSN thing was pretty weak. I have an account, but I don't think I ever used on of my cards on it.

Oddly, I called one of the numbers to check my order status, it said in "Delivery Prep", then I called the other one, and it said my order shipping on 5/10/11. Dell confuses me.

Anybody get their laptop from DHL? I'm trying to determin where it is coming from for me. If anybody received it from DHL, can you post and or message the Shipper's Reference number from the order? It's Dell's account number, so you can find the tracking number on DHL's site

Another ordered on the 19th and still in production, I wonder if since I was able to use the 350 coupon, they are holding it up. As many of the first orders most likely used it..

I used the 350 coupon and ordered the 20th. It was shipped and is on it's way from City of Industry, CA. Should be here Friday per FedEx.

Edit: I saw another thread on here somewhere about those who ordered the 750GB HD experiencing delays getting them shipped out. I think that may be holding those orders up.

just observational, but ive noticed that people who ordered on 4/19 for the most part have gotten them first (yesterday/tuesday), and people who ordered 4/20 or 4/21 are getting them today/tomorrow/early next week.

of course, there are some people who's are going a bit slower. might be the 750 gb (as the poster above said), might be another reason

Yeah, still hasnt shipped - ordered on the 19th.

If it doesnt ship tomorrow, that's a full 10 days.

I emailed Dell explaining I'm still waiting - they basically just said

"you're waiting because it's status is that you are in production still. it will eventually ship. bye."

    Thanks Dell!

Lol, don't even get me started on the lack of support you get from Dell support agents. Man, I swear after the calls I made recently, I came away knowing less then I did when I called. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I lost brain cells.
