I think I'm going to get the SU7300 model. Couple questions though.. I'm not going to be really gaming a lot on the laptop ( Got a desktop for heavy gaming)..

Does the R1 model have trouble playing .mkv videos (720p) aka stuttering, etc.., and viewing high quality flash videos on the internet?

From youtube videos it seems like it ran a lot of videos fine, internet and downloaded, even on the integrated graphics card it ran well.

The GPU in the m11x should be able to do full hardware decoding regardless of the CPU you opt for, though I won't get to test it until mine arrives ;)

For playing 1080p mkv files, I would suggest using Windows Media Player Classic. Took the stuttering away on my R1.

Or you could dl VLC as well but I haven't had any issues with HD video playback at all.

If it can game, and it does it extremely well, it will play videos with no problems.

With a couple of IPS 24" monitors (with their own audio output) wedgied into my big pants M11xR1 SU7300, I was able to view two(2) DVDs at the same time.

OK the audio gets a bit hectic and my left brain, right brain type hearing thing doesn't seem to work on the same model as a HT C2D, but hay.

As an aside, does any one know if it's possible to separate HDMI and DisplayPort Audio so one has discrete audio on two monitors?

You will not have problems watching 720p video. You don't even need the nVidia 335M GPU for that. The Intel GPU should have enough power to decide 720p.
