I am looking to find some rubber plugs that will fill/cover up the unused ports on the side of my m11x, I dont use most of the ports and would rather not have to pick lint and dust from them if I do want to use them... anyone know of a good place to buy these little caps?

    I need:
    VGA
    eithernet jack
    HMDI
    display port
    1394 port
    3 usb ports
and 3 headphone ports (something that has all 3 connected would be nice)

No use for any of them? Actually I only use one currently for my cooling pad (Belkin) due to a bluetooth mouse, but man I would never want to close them up! :p

On a noraml day, I will only use one single USB plug for my mouse. I have never used any of the ports on the left side of the laptop.

Every port cover I've seen that can be bought as a loose item sticks out of the port in some way - so that you can grab it later to pull it out.

To me, destroying the sleekness of the laptop by having a bunch of stuff sticking out the side isn't worth it. I'd rather just let dust get in to the ports, and call in my warranty if it becomes a problem.

And P.S. - I have never had a problem with inoperable ports because of dust/debris clogs on a laptop before.

I have never had port problems too... but I think it would be nice to have... It would be pretty cool to have a custom silicone mold made of both sides... then again... no one is going to do that without a group buy in order...

Yea, i know what the OP is talking about. I have a little bit of OCD and i hate dust getting in there. But it's honestly the least bit of my worries. I don't remember dust damaging those ports unless the dust miraculously ends up in the vent of the fan.

And like the guy above me stated, if dell left them open, I'm sure they figured dust wouldn't harm the ports.

If anything, buy a neoprene sleeve for your m11x. :)

Why not just get a thick piece of clear packing tape and cut it to the right width and affix it along the entire side?

Cheap and simple..and might actually look 'stock' since AW used plastic tape over the plastic areas to protect from keyboard installation scratches.

With the heat from the laptop, the tape adhesive is likely to melt off the tape and end up on your laptop over time.

I have never owned a laptop in my life where dust / debris getting in to the ports was a problem. And if it ain't broke...
