Hi, I have a M11x R3 i5 with 16GB Corsair Vengeance and a 1TB Samsung 850 EVO SSD. I just bought a brand new Samsung SDI battery, I was getting around 40 minutes from my previous battery which wasn't enough. I go to college and study a lot afterwards and having to bring my charger is a pain. The review on this site says on balanced power mode and 70% brightness they got almost 8 hours of use (exact same specs as mine except I have 16GB of RAM and an SSD). One guy somewhere even said he got 11 1/2 hours with everything on the lowest settings and only WiFi on. So I bought a new battery hoping to get about 6-7 hours battery life on regular settings and use. So I got my Brand New Samsung SDI battery (same as OEM) and on 10% brightness, power saver mode (lots of lag while typing this) and no background apps except Spotify. I'm getting 2 hours 15 minutes.... I checked the battery saver app and the task manager and there's nothing abnormal. I'm really annoyed, does anyone know why I'm having such poor battery life? It's a brand new battery, minimal apps running, lowest power settings and even an SSD which uses less power.

Even though it's a "new" battery how long has it been sitting on a self? Is there a date on it?

What's the battery wear level? That can be checked with HWMonitor or HWinfo. Those apps should also report the mWh or mAh ratings.

Are you sure the battery is genuine? Where did you buy it?

    Hey all,

I have the same problem - I figured instead of making a new thread, I'd just update this.

I've decided to revive my old m11x as a small laptop comes in handy now. I had the exact same issue as the original poster where the original battery only gave me 1.5 hours at best (under both discrete and integrated GPUs, interestingly) so I've decided to get a new battery.

It's a new genuine battery. The wear level is 0.9% (not sure if it's good enough for a new battery?) with design capacity of 64530 mWh, total capacity of 63940 mWh, voltage of 16 V, and varying discharge rate. Currently at idle, it seems like it is around 13-15 W for discharge rate.

These numbers seem fine and normal for the battery. However, I am only getting maximum 4 hours on an integrated graphics card. This is at 1 bar brightness and nothing going on in the background.

I remember being able to use this m11x for 7+ hours in normal use under integrated card. 2-3 hours while gaming with the discrete GPU.

Anyone have any idea what the problem might be? Do you think it's the problem on the battery or something else? I also tried to clean the computer inside and out as much as possible.
