First of all i want to say hi to everybody because this is my first post...so Hi :)

I was searching this forum to find a solution to my problem but i didn't found enything, that is why i started a new topic.

    I have had my M11xR2(with a core i5) since august 2010.

I play a lot of games, especialy MW2 and Dirt2.

For like 2 weeks now every time i play this games my laptop reaches temperatures around 78-80C and when it does reach this values the game automaticaly drop to under 20 fps. Especialy Dirt2, i mean i have to exit the game, enter it again and then all works fine. MW2 just lags from time to time but it isstill playable.

From what i have been reading in the forum this temperatures should be finre, right? Then why do i get this problems in game.
    Can somebody pls answer me.

And sory for my bad english.

Edit: Forgot to mention that i have not overclock enything on it yet. I did upgrade my nvidia drivers from their website.

call Dell and say that your computer is overheat and graphics is acting weird they will probably send you a new laptop.

Did you buy it brand new? If so, I'd think so. It's worth a shot!

Just tell them exactly what you are experiencing. The problems, when they happen, how often, etc. They will probably walk you through some simple things like disc defragmenting, but if the problem occurs, it's possible they will send you a fix, or a new laptop

When you buy retail (at least in my experience) you have to then go onto Dell's site, and then transfer the warranty to you. Just because you buy retail DOES NOT mean you don't have a warranty. I would even suggest you call Dell and MAKE SURE they reset the warranty time (1 year by default) to the date of your purchase.

Here is the link for registering the product: Dell - Register Your Product

Here is the link you may need for transferring: Dell - Ownership Transfers

If you have any issues use the online chat, they will help guide you. I had to do this to get my R1 I bought from Microcenter over into my name and the warranty reset.

It's been some time since i have made this topic, and now i have fixed my problem.
All i had to do clean the dust a little from my fan using comprest air. That has done it for me.

Thank you everyone for the help.

No, that's generally never how it works. They will troubleshoot, send parts and have it serviced.
