I just ordered my M11x R2 (i7) and have banged my head against the wall for a lack of answers on how I can set this thing up to send 5.1 audio to my receiver in my living room. The HDMI will go to my TV of course. I've looked everywhere but I can't see any mention of this thing being able to send 5.1 to external speakers. (If so then WHY THE HELL do they tote that this thing can do 5.1?)

    Someone please help!

HDMI carries audio and video. You'll want to connect the m11x to your receiver's HDMI IN and then HDMI OUT from the receiver to your TV. Receiver will process the 5.1 audio and pass video to your TV.

You can also turn off the nvidia soundcard and it will then send audio to the headphone jacks and video to the HDMI.

Yeah I plugged the HDMI into my TV thinking it would pass the 5.1 over optical. The m11x (R1) sees the TV and assumes 2 channel. It shows up in the sound settings (can't remember the window). Plugged into my receiver and I get 5.1. The same sound window shows the receiver and that its 5.1.
