    Hi,

New to the forum and my first Alienware laptop. Just installed Crysis and it "lags and stutters" big time. Below are the specs on my M11x. Is it my "hardware" or do I need to make some adjustments on my laptop?

Overclockable intel Core i7 640UM (4M Cache, 2.266 GHz Max Turbo Freq.)

    4GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 800MHz

    1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M

    1366x766 (720p) WLED

    320GB SATAII 7,200RPM

    Windows 7 Home Premium

    Thanking all in advance.

Have you added the game to the 'whitelist'?

If you've updated the Nvidia drivers to the latest version, try right-clicking the game icon and go to 'Run with graphics processor' -> High performance Nvidia processor.

Funny.. i just installed Crysis last night and have been playing it on and off today when my son give me a break. I am using settings by CCC that are similar to very high on the cheap or Enthusiast on the cheap. Looks amazing.. I also have warhead and posted some screenshots of that a couple of months ago. Key for this game is... optimize everything!!!!! I have had this game lock on me when I attempted to use fraps to record because it is that picky! So.. clean all extra process. Get everything you can outta ram... Cooling is very important for the I7 since turbo will only kick in if the cpu is cool and the demand is high.

    Best Wishes, StevenX

I run Crysis on the M11xR1 just fine. I think that you have processes running in the background.

I have i7 258.96 drivers have it running smoothly on mix of medium to high get approximate 25-30 fps. I use gamebooster from iobit, try it. It frees background processes and RAM.

@Steven I am really interested how to optimise to get high equivalent? Is this info in a thread?(can't find it with search). Do you use the command console in game?

    Thanks

My current Nvidia driver is 189.69. When I go to the Nvidia website to check for updates it gives me the option to download 258.96 however, when I try to download, it tells me "Nvida setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware". Does this mean I have the most current driver (189.69)?
    Thanks again...

You need to follow kopicha's guide. In short uninstall anything nvidia/physx related boot into Safe mode run driver sweeper re boot install new drivers after error message find directory for drivers patch ini file supplied on kopicha's thread run set up from directory
His guide is now on page 4 or 5 I think

or try the 257.30 drivers. read the benchmarks between the two in this forum and the modded 258.56 give a very slight performance boost over the Dell 257.30 drivers.

This might sound stupid but I've seen other people do this...You're not playing it with your integrated graphics card are you?
