IMHO, if you're not going to get Windows 7 Professional or do XP virtual machine, go for the cheaper Pentium SU4100. I did, and that little guy still runs great! You'll save $100. Also, a lot of people in the forums seem to be reporting random fan problems with the A03 bios, so I don't know if yours will come preflashed with that or the older A01 from early May. I installed the beta drivers for the NVidia card from Dell's site too. Then I let Windows update do its thing. :)

Only thing I can suggest is to check out the M!!x Optimization thread. It gives some great pointers on how to make the M11x run more efficiently.

I was actually gonna go with the SU4100, but in canada there was a signature dell deal, 8gigs, 500gb and SU7300 for one thousand CAD i think, i thought it was well worth it :p.

Yeah i was reading the new Bios Post, lets hope they have all the bugs ironed out, I also saw the new m11x refresh, kinda bummed out now, how much of performance increase will we see? I mean the processors are Ultra Low Voltage right?

I'll be sure to check that out

i just ordered mine too but as many people have stated both the ULV core iX series and the SU series in the M11x are clocked at the same speed so. im assuming not a big difference. i think that the main difference will be in applications or other things that are optimized for core ix series as opposed to the dual core.

Yeah, thats what i read to. I'm not to sad though I can tell people I have the ORIGINAL m11x :p

By the way I have advanced warranty coverage on it, can i just happen to drop it and send it to dell and upgrade it to m11x r2?

i asked dell today and they said as long as i return within 21 days of the shipment date and i swap for another system i dont get charged the 15% restocking fee. so if it comes out within 21 days of my shipment date i might just do that... if the new processor isnt like a huge huge cost difference. im sure dell will overcharge for it but hopefully its not too bad.
