No cursor movement, no Ctrl + Alt + Delete seems to do it once every 3 days or so not doing anything specific it is totally random mostly when just browsing the web. I have to force it off holding the power button.

I did upgrade my RAM to 8GB when I first got it and never tested the original RAM but could it be flaky RAM causing something like this? I always thought bad RAM would just BSOD not lock up in this manner. I am not overclocking either.

if you are getting a video freeze i would say first bad video card and a close 2nd would be bad ram. easy way to tell for you is keep your habits the same and try the stock ram out for a few days.

    is this a r1 or r2?

R1. I am not even gaming on it though so not really doing anything video intensive I am literally just using it for internet and email currently. I think I will do like you said and see if it happens with the stock RAM because if the CPU/VideoCard/Or Mobo is faulty I want to find out ASAP so Dell can fix it before the warranty expires in a year.

This has happened to me as well.
I really have no explanation for it.
Just I have noticed that when the fans kick up on high sometimes, that is when the lockups usually happen.

wow , im getting the exact same thing while playing wow on my m11x R2.

I'm playing wow for like an hour, and then all of a sudden, it locks up. I can move the cursor but nothing else. I can't Ctrl-Alt-Del or anything. After like 5 minutes I finally get task manager super slowly and try to end the process for WOW but nothing happens. like it refuses to close. Then I have to do a hard reset of the laptop (Which I hate

This has happened to me 3 times in the past 2 weeks. Strange

This all sounds like heat... use some tools to monitor the fans and internal temperatures and compare to what people without problems are seeing. Also, make sure your not gaming on a surface where the machine cannot breathe. The front does NOT have air intakes, they are faux ports made to look like the stealth fighter, but they don't do anything, air has to flow in from underneath.

Same problem here playing Borderlands yesterday. I know it isn't a heat problem because my temperatures usually don't even hit 55 degrees celcius.

It's just a theory, but I suspect it's because our overclock is the tiniest bit unstable and will lock up sometimes when the CPU is too stressed.

Freezing due to heat? i doubt it. I purposely keep my laptop lifted or off to the edge due to the small cooling system this little beast has.

At one point I was able to get out of WOW and see the desktop and I saw some direct X error but didn't pay any mind to it. (I have the latest Direct X updates)

    I have my m11x O/C'ed to 156Mhz.

Any suggestions or programs anyone think might be useful in getting to the bottom of this??

    :(
