M11x Uk owners couple of questions

Ordered my M11x yesterday and i can't wait for it after browsing these forums for a couple of days now i have a couple of questions.

1. How was the overall build quality of your M11x when you recieved it? I have read many posts on the build quality of the machine and i am quite worried as to what condition it will arrive in. Considering we in the UK probably pay over £1000. (mine was £1059 to be exact).

2. How long from ordering did it take for the laptop to reach your door step if you ordered within the last month or so

I guess question 1 is the main question after reading some of the horror storys on here i guess i'm pretty worried and wondering if it's more of a US problem or just a problem all over the world.

My experience hasn't been good. 2 systems both arrived in a poor condition. Build quality really bad on first one.
See my posts and pictures on hinge/screen thread.
Performance wise loved it it's just the damn hinges and build quality letting it down.
Don't let my case put you off though I have obviously been really unlucky.
There are many happy owners in these threads who have had no problems at all.

1st unit 13 days order to door
2nd unit 6 days(sent ups 2 days delivery)
Waiting for confirmation on 3rd

 

Oh boy, doesn't fill me with confidence i have a feeling i'm going to do a full inspection of the machine before i even switch it on

Strange i have an Alienware Desktop which i bought around 2 years ago and it came in pristine condition everything was just perfect which is why i have gone for Alienware again.

If it does come in a really bad condition can i ask for my money back within a so many day period?

 

Mine arrived with no problems. I ordered the day it was released, they gave me a date and then delayed it by a week or so. Actually that's being kind, they cancelled my order and said t they couldn't find the M11x R2 on their system. I re-ordered in the afternoon and got it in a couple to three weeks. I think the delay was with the i7 but I'm just guessing.

I've had no problems with hinges, keyboards, LEDs etc.

Great to know thanks i have ordered the i7 also but i assume as it's sometime after the release hopefully i shouldn't be waiting too long for mine.

 

Mine arrived a week early and in great condition.
It is still in great condition although Dell have been out and swapped my motherboard.

I have 3 alienware desktops and only one had a build problem, a pin missing from the hinge on the door to the drive area. They wanted me to return the whole system but i decided to live with it. Only downside I have found in the GPUs they fitted died after about a year of use.. nice time/excuse for me to upgrade them

 

Nice to hear btw after you got the order confirmation email did you get a phone call from order verification to verifiy your address? i got a phone call this morning.

I asked him when i should get my laptop he told me it was already in production and i should get it within 4-5 working days lol maybe he was just lying lol

 

I found the tracking lagged behind the reality, so even after calling to chase, the call for delivery was the first I knew it was here.

 

Ok who delivered yours? DHL?

 

My M1x R1 is a beauty. No problems at all with it.

NP, my order status has been on Work in progress since Monday now i have a feeling though that the website isn't that accurate.

Is it true that the Laptop is made in China? when i last bought my Alienware Desktop back 2 years ago it was made in Ireland lol.

 

yeah my R1 came direct from china, took about a week from work in progress to delivery i think.


got mine for £816 thanks to a couple of discounts, works like a beast, everytime i try a new game on it im impressed
