Don’t know if I am posting in the right area but every question that I Google its always leads me to this web site so I registered in hopes that someone can help me out. I brought my M11x after some slight research and the fact that my Dell M107 XPS graphic card went on me. I needed a new toy. Anyway I love my little machine but there are a few issues that I have some concern on. When I first got it and started installing some of my personal software I notice that there was a bright pixel on the upper left side of the screen only shows it’s self when I am on the desk top and all in minimized, but when I click on show desktop on windows 7 it disappears. It’s not that annoying but it does seem to bug me for a $1100 machine that I paid for to have a worry free time on the computer. Another thing is what I consider to be like water lines on the screen. About three or four pixel lines straight up and down less than a center miter long that looks like I have spill drops of water on my screen. These I see them when I first open the screen of the laptop and turn her on. The weird thing is to get rid of them I rub on the screen in the area that they are in and they disappear as if to say that the screen is lifted like a film protection was on with bubbles and it has none. One last thing is the fan turns on about every five minutes and then it shuts off once again in five minutes and then off and so on. I am assuming that for a little machine packing so much power it needs to do this but should I worry about it in the long wrong where I have to go ahead and purchase another laptop in the future because this one burns out. My XPS lasted me about 5 to 6 years and I know it was its time but this thing I just got and what should I do next. I don’t want to spend hours on the phone with Dell tech support as the prog and probe my machine from there end like they did the first time about the first issues. And can I remove my battery without voiding my warranty I have always used my laptops without their battery and if having it inside is making it hot what should I do. I feel like sending it back in but I am scared they going to give me the run around and I be without anything. Can someone advice?

Yeah, get it replaced I haven't had any issues of that nature. Seems like it might be a defective screen. I mean if you want to try to reformat using the recovery DVDs included, that may fix your problem, but ultimately get it replaced.

With the screen , you have dead pixals , need to get it replaced. It happens occasionaly. The BIOS runs the fan connected to the temp gage , check BIOS temperture management.
