    Hi,

I'm in the UK and looking at buying a US spec M11x as it has the sim card slot. Has anyone got a US spec m11x in the UK that will accept their sim card for 3g connections?

Alternatively, have any of you US people travelled to europe and been able to use the sim card slot for 3g data?

As long as the card is the ATT variant, it will work outside of the USA (most countries) with any SIM card.

    From a technical standpoint.

Not a real world usage perspective (I have no experience with the stock dell 3G adaptor).

Just a note for others, 3G card is not offered in the UK, iirc.

When you say ATT variant i assume this is the standard sim card size that for example fits iphones? (obviously not the iphone 4 mini sim)

If the sim slot works worldwide then why have they restricted this on uk models?

SIM is an effect of GPRS tech, which is used (almost) worldwide, favoured against the older CDMA. SIM cards are the same, no matter where, or how, you get them.

Dell UK simply didn't have any deals with existing Celluar phone service providers, so they didn't have a card to offer, as a result.
