One thing I use on this puter is a set of reading glasses (which seems to magnify the apparent size of the screen and DRASTICALLY reduces eye strain over long hours) but at the supermarket the other day, I found a pair of 1.50 diopter (my eyes are 20/17 and 20/19) which claimed to be "glare reducing". Well, what they are is polarized and GAWD what a difference on this screen!!! The colors just leap out at you, almost like putting a skylight filter on a camera. Contrast is way up and the whole effect is an amazing improvement for such a small effort.

I can now even push the gamma for those dungeon instances :) You might try a pair, at $2.00 its a no brainer.

Once I saw one of those glare reducing glasses in a store. You don't actually need to buy sunglasses: there are normal glare reducing glasses. However, they don't help with the mirror effect of the super glossy screen of the M11x...
(I would forgive dell/alienware for the hinge problems if they were bringing M11x with matte screens... :D )

Chedrude, the ones I got have huge effect on reducing the mirror like reflections from this screen. Try setting your screen so its just off perpendicular to your line of sight. I like mine a LOT better now.
