Hi all,
I purchased an Alienware M11x two years ago and have recently installed a WWAN card, along with antennas. The card is a Dell 5530 Mobile Broadband mini-card. The drivers for both the card and the SIM reader are installed and appear in Device Manger without any issues. However, when I do insert a SIM card, Windows nor the Dell Connection Manager recognize it. I would appreciate anyone's help in this matter.
Getting the drivers to work is a pain, but possible. I am willing to help others with getting their WWAN card drivers to work.

Have you tried using the Windows one? Does it work well or not?

Have you turned the card on?
Push and hold the fn + wifi key. A window should pop up to allow you to turn on/off wifi, bluetooth, and wwan. Make sure wwan is turned on. -
Do you mean your SD slot if so I know whats the problem is ?

He means sim card, like 3g internet over cell networks.

Sorry for hijacking this thread. Is it possible to install a WLAN card to the WWAN slot on the M11xR1?

Nope, I have tried myself, and the wifi card isn't even detected in the Device Manager
