Does anyone have any answers for this problem yet? I know when RAM is bad generally computers will memory dump and BSOD so thats what I am pretty certain it is specifically some sort of BIOS/Firmware or hardware issue with the motherboards used in the M11x. Has anyone had their M11x replaced because of this? It only happens to me about once every other week on average but it is unacceptable.

What problem is it that you are getting exactly? Cursor freeze up? Does it require a hard reset? Does the sound loop?

What is going on when it happens?

What version of the M11x do you have, did you leave the stock operating system on it?

Just a few questions I need to know and I will try to help you out.

It does it at random it doesn't matter what I am doing the computer can be sitting on desktop with nothing open and it can happen. No sound and the cursor just freezes and yes you have to hold the power button down..... I have a SU7100 processor so not sure if that is R2 or R1 and yes its stock installation but on a SSD.

I do not know much about SSDs. I would assume since it is the only thing you have changed from stock that the problem would be there or the BIOS.

I would fully update the BIOS to the latest one first, then if that does not fix the issue I would post on here asking about issues that are common with SSD swaps in all laptops.

Usually if Ram is bad the comp will not boot at all and will beep at you when you hit the power button. However if this is still the route you believe the problem lies in, try running around with one ram stick in and see if the problem occurs again. If it does then swap ram sticks and try the other one.

The chances of both of your RAM sticks going bad are nearly zero lol.

And to clarify, you have an R1.

Its not bad RAM I work on computers for a living and bad RAM = BSODs, Beeps on boot, or no boot. I have read other threads where people said there M11x does the same thing and they were all stock no SSD so at this point I believe it has to be a faulty board.

This guy has experience with the issue at hand. I used to build them, but with the way that technology goes, 5 years is like a life time away from building computers lol. When I quit building them I but an Athlon 4200+ in a computer and it was the fastest thing I have ever seen.

    Listen to this man's advice.

Do have another SSD or HDD you can swap in? Some SSD's can cause freezing issues when not working properly.

    Run this program
    DPC Latency Checker

Check and see if the "freezing" is analogous to spikes.

Yes this happens to me on a stock brand new r3. For me it's like twice a week. No load doing nothing just random freezes. I dont want to risk sending it back to get one with screen gaps/uneven keyboard/etc etc because other than the freezing this lil guy has been awesome!
