Has the price dropped since its release? (the base i5 model is now $1299 with double ram and $100 off). Will there be more better discounts close to the release of ivy processors?

    Thanks in advance :)

Yes it has dropped in price, IIRC it was ~$1,500 for the base i5 just a few months ago. That being said, the base model in the US is less than $1,000.

    Thanks Rishwin,

I spoke to a few Dell sales reps and they say the max they can give is a 5% discount as part of the employee or student program. Has anyone bargained a better discount on alienware in Aus?

Hey, yeah I just bought an i5 M11X, 4GB ram with sound and wireless upgrades.
Total $1480... Was to be $1560 or something like that but haggled and said I was an existing customer...
I got free Bose Companion 2 speakers as a special offer, they have a tactx headset and mouse offer at the moment I think...

I upgraded the ram myself from my M15X... Cheaper and plan to upgrade to an SSD...

Just haggle as much as you can and shoot the bull if you want.

Yeh cos usually the international shipping costs more than the item you're trying to buy :/
