Oh my I would love to trade my R3 for an M14x. It depends on your needs. I do not travel much and I keep my laptop in 2 places so an M14 is a great laptop for me. I got my R3 for free so I would've personally purchased the M14x originally. Too bad you are in the UK I couldn't split from my laptop for more than a day without falling behind in classes.

edit: My roommate has an 14x and its about a 10-15% boost alone.

Uh, what? How did you get one for free? Did your original m11x break down so many times that you demanded AW support an upgraded replacement?

In the most basic terms yes. I got an R2 for about 700 bucks during a promotion on dell. About 9 service calls later I got one for free maxed out.

Caladdon, didn't you say your laptop has issues? Heat, dust in screen, etc...

    Had.
    Received new parts via warranty.

Complete New screen, cover and top section.
    Complete New Speaker system.
    Vents cleared.
    :D

    I wouldn't be listing otherwise.

So it wasn't really free then... You paid 700 bucks for it - correct?

Well considering I usually I would've bought a new laptop after that period of time I look at it like getting an upgraded laptop. But essentially you are right.

Just to be clear, you're considering giving up an M14x for an M11x R3? I only have both the M14x and the M11x R2 (not the R3, so I don't know how comparable the two machines are) - but I would never ever trade my M14x for an M11x. The M14x is so much more powerful and luxurious!

Just my opinion, as the thread asks for. :) And again, maybe the R3 is a thousand times better than R2; I wouldn't know.

In my opinion - R3 surpasses the R2 by at least 10-20%. I've had all three models.

After careful consideration I decided NOT to accept M11x R2's. They just don't have the punch I'm after.

From now on M11x R3's i7 only with warranty.

The M11x R3 is a great machine. I also have a MALIBAL X7200 (DTR BEAST), and I ended up getting another M11x R3 (had the R2, sold it towards the MALIBAL) because I missed having it everywhere with me.

Drop an SSD in there and you have a machine that kills most laptops for gaming portability.

Also, game in native res, increases performance greatly, you dont need/cant tell 1080p that small anyways.

No hinge problem on the R3 model.

It's too bad you're in the UK.
