    Hi all,

A few questions while I'm setting this up.

Drivers: Can I just load the latest Nvidia notebook driver on the machine or do I have to do things in a particular order?

Software: Any recommendations for some crucial software to put on here for performance tweaks etc?

I'm installing The Witcher 2 as I type this to see how well it runs before I start the all day all night downloads of BF3 and a few other games.

    Thanks!

Congrats man, I'm sure you'll love the little beast!

As for drivers, I think you'll be pretty right just installing them in any order. The only thing I've done is install the Intel graphics drivers before the Nvidia, so you may want to check for any Intel driver updates before you load up the latest Nvidia ones.

Software wise, the R3 doesn't really need lots of software to bring it to its peak performance. Overclocking the GPU can help quite a bit in some games, so you may want to download an overclocking utility. I use MSI Afterburner and it is really good but EVGA Precision is also good as well. You can give Gamebooster a go as well. It most likely won't make much of a difference in gaming for your R3 but it does kill any unnecessary services that are running in the background and frees up some RAM.

That should be about it. Have fun and check out the NBR Battlefield 3 platoon!

Cheers, going to use Afterburner as I've used it once or twice on my desktop (but never had the need to keep anything OC'd). One thing I have noticed is the fan goes from silent to ridiculously loud when you boot up a game! I have the volume down very low (shared house so headphones are usually the way) and I couldn't hear the game!

The Witcher did run though, it was running really nicely on low (looked really good too) without any stuttering or slowdown. Might have to up it to medium to see how it performs.

I have to say. Must be one of the best purchases I've made recently (other than BF3 and pre-ordering Skyrim!) I'm chuffed to bits with it.

Edit: I think it's time for my stock 3Dmark06!
