    Hey Guys,

I just received my M11x R3 yesterday and since then I having a really annoying issue.

After creating the respawn disks, I've reinstalled windows and installed all the default drivers.

The problem is that the M11x simply shuts down randomly. It does not matter what I am doing. I can be surfing the net or seeing an youtube video, it just goes off.

Before doing that, the cpu fan spins really fast and then bum! It is off.

It feels like I've removed both the battery and the power cord.

I'm not overclocking it, all the BIOS settings are default.

I haven't even updated any drivers yet.

I have even put back the factory default system, but it did not help at all.

I've read that some people are having the same issue but all of them seems to be related to the R1 which was fixed with a bios update.

    My bios is version A03.

By the way, it does not matter if I'm using the power cord or the battery. It simply shuts off randomly.

    Anyone please...

    Cheers.

did you update the bios to A03? I didn't find this version to R3, also be carefull when you are instaling drivers from Dell's site, when I connect to drivers homepage with my R3 the site show the drivers from R2!!

It came with the A03 already installed.

I made sure I was downloading the drivers for R3.

I am really thinking about downgrading the bios to A02 which is the one listed at DELL's website, just to see if it solves the problem.

    Before I forget...

It also does not know the difference between restart and shutdown.

When I ask it to restart, it just shuts down abruptly, and when I ask it to shut down it does exactly the same thing.

Really don't know what is going on...

But one thing I'm quite sure.. it has something to do with the drivers, because while i'm installing windows, it just works.. no problems whatsoever but once it has been configured with all the drivers installed the issues begin.

Mind you that i'm using the drivers from DELL's website.

That's what I am going to do.

Also, should I ask them about replacing my battery adaptor?

I did not get the slim one but the fat brick one.

Yes, I would talk to Dell about all of it. I just got my M11x R3 a few days ago, and ever since then, my computer has been blacking out or with a static screen. I called the Alienware tech support, and they are sending a Dell tech and a new motherboard today.

    Guys,

After a long talking to DELL, my M11x was replaced by a brand new one.

Everything is working great and zero problems for the time being.

@VoltCut875 - How long has it been since you've got yours?

I would talk to them to give you a new one, instead of just replacing the MB.

Mine was 48 hours old. They proposed the MB replacement and I said no, and after a long talk, I got them to give me a new one.

    Cheers.
