Has there been any progress is getting the M11x to work with Nvidia's 3D vision / convince the software that there is a 3d capable display connected to the 335m?

Go search. M11x display does not support 3D.

EDIT: GT335M does but display doesn't

The M11X's display is not 3D capable and the Alienware M11X cannot power 3D at a good FPS. So no, it is literally impossible because you would have to revamp the computer to make it even run 3D at a good FPS alone.

If you want 3D Vision on your laptop, you must have a 120Hz display. The M11x doesn't have.

You want to watch 3D on external display, your HDMI out must be 1.4. The M11x has 1.3.

The newest R3 model of M11x has HDMI 1.4 I believe. For 3D movies it'd be okay (I think, I'm no expert) but for gaming, there'd be no point with newer titles. (and by 3D movies and older games, I mean hooked up to an external monitor of course)

I'd love to play some Counterstrike in 3D though! > :D

Not really, you don't need a 120Hz display, you could get a passive 3D 60Hz display but its viewing angles will be crap.

Nope. nVidia 3D Vision requires a 120Hz display. Source.

Ok , you can have 3D on an external display and without hdmi 1.4
I was only just playing Halflife 2 on a 120" screen via projector in 3D yesterday.
    And that's on an m11x R1
    :)
    Using IZ3D not Nvision
And you can also watch 3D movies on an external screen (SBS etc)

This is stereo-3D unless they've changed it recently. Namely only Red-Blue glasses. Lower quality but I guess still 3D if you want to go that way.

Interesting. Nice to see they upgraded. Used to be that you had to pay for that feature.
