This problem honestly occurred when I was going to play Sonic Heroes and was plugged into my tv via hdmi. The game was acting wonky so I just unplugged the laptop from the tv.

I tried reconnected later and M11x is saying that it doesn't detect another screen. I also tried on a different tv and the same thing has occurred.

Does anyone have any idea how I could fix this?

EDIT: Fixed But I'm having a different problem (see my most recent post).

I once plugged my laptop to the tv using hdmi. The laptop screen started flickering. I fixed the problem by changing the tv channel(I had it on a random channel) to HDMI. I guess you have to have the tv on the HDMI channel to make the laptop recognize the device.

Well yeah. I mean I knew that. I've hooked up to hdmi on more than one occasion before. Just all of a sudden it's acting up.

Have you tried pressing FN F1 to toggle the display output?

I've been having the same issues hooking up via hdmi to my 22" Dell monitor. I literally have to reboot and unplug the cable 15 times before it suddenly recognizes it. Really obnoxious as I hook my m11x up to my monitor the moment I get home. Sometimes it's cool so I guess it's just finicky.

    here are the steps:
    1. Connect HDMI to your laptop and output source
    2. Fn+F6 to "Increase Performance"
    3. Windows+X and select extend to monitor or duplicate

Done. Lemme know if you have any more problems.

I was right. I needed to get my motherboard replaced and now the fan likes to spin up really fast and then stop.

    Open up Firefox. Spin.
Play a song in iTunes. Spin.
    Blink. Spin.
    Type on keyboard. Spin.
Walk away and leave it alone. SPIN!

I'm going to call Alienware within the next two days. I do get this error message though when I boot up:
It's really annoying and my battery life is vanishing way faster than before. I unplug with a full charge and it's telling me I only have 4 hours left? An hour later I have 2 1/2 hours left. Really?
