I was wondering what everyone's FPS was for the first Witcher. I seem to be getting a lot of stuttering issues where one second I'd be at 60 then I'd drop to the 10s. I just want to see if that was normal.

Ah, I started that thread as well. I suppose I should have resurrected that one instead of making a new thread.

But the thing is that people claim to have maxed out the game and play it smoothly and I'm just curious what their definition of "smooth" is.

On a related note, I've read that forcing off vertical sync helps. Originally I had forced it on (I can't stand screen tearing), but upon turning it off, I can't say I see too much of a difference. I've also come to the realization that playing it in birds eye view allows me to retain 30-60 FPS with rare drops into the 20s. Over the shoulder mode gives me anywhere from 10-60.

All my testing was done on default (medium) settings.
