I was playing serious sam 3 and bam my m11x that I've had a little over a year turns off. Its gone dark and refuses to do anything even after removing the battery and holding down the power for awhile then plugging it back in. Its right over its warranty so dell completely refuses to even talk to me unless I pay them 250 dollars that I just don't have right now. The customer support was HORRIBLE but I love this little laptop and I don't want a different one......I just want this one to work again.

Anyway if anybody knows what could be wrong with it I'd love to know because if I can't fix it myself I'll have to set some cash aside to send it in. Like I said it doesn't even try to boot up when I press the power button, its completely dead with NO signs of life.

Depending on what's wrong with it, it may be cheaper to pay the $250 to extend the warranty, especially if it's something like the motherboard.

Does the laptop even power on? If it goes dark could be that the Lcd has gone bad.

Sounds like a bad motherboard if there is no power at all, if they will fix it with the new/extended warranty, then I say do it for the $250 when you can.

Depends, if $250 is for 1 year of extended warranty, then go for it. Because a systemboard will set you back $120-$250 (for an R1 or R2, r3 would be more) and you'll have to do it yourself.
