I know this is an issue that's been discussed in the past but I'm not sure if there's been any kind of progress made.
As the title suggests, I'm having trouble with Overclocking my M11x R2 I5 U520. I've set it at all different kinds of levels (b/w 140-166) but it seems to BSOD regardless. I just downloaded Skyrim so I'd really like to be able to play it with better fps then I'm getting. I had much of my computer's internals replaced while it was on warranty and I believe that the problem only started to occur after. Unfortunately, my warranty is now up. Do I have a case for getting it re-replaced? Any tips you guys can suggest?
Note: I noticed that one of the BSODs reported a pfn error. I'm not sure if this was just a fluke though, as I have only seen it once.

are these BSOD occurring only on Skyrim? If so, it is the game's fault. I'm waiting for a fix, a patch or even a magic from Bethesda regarding this issue. I've heard that instability is one major problem of the company.

I don't believe that it is specifically related to Skyrim for two reasons:
1. It's a problem that I've encountered with other games (namely LoL).
2. It doesn't BSOD if I play the game without OC.
Skyrim+OC=BSOD
Skyrim w/ no OC=Runs fine (Low FPS) -
I doubt that Dell would replace your motherboard because it cannot overclock. Even though the option is in the bios, they don't guarantee that it will work. Some unlucky owners have laptops that do not overclock well or at all.

I have the same problem with my M11x r2 i5 running at 185. It seems that my m11x will BSOD every time I play LoL, but I wont see this happen if I play SC or WoW....

try swapping ram?

Is there any way I can check if my ram is the problem?

I can OC my R2 i5 till 162, past there, is BSOD 100% of the time...
When I want to game and OC, 162 is the max I can get it to work, I have played hours at 162 without problems....
Well, 164 kills my wifi, I dunno why, and 166 gets BSOD after a few minutes of use...
