    R1
    SU7300
    4gb Ram
    320gb HD
    GT335M

    Price £629 (refurbished)

    R2
    i7 640
    3gb ram
    320gb HD

I would take the r2 bud, maybe scale the Hard drive size down to 250 gig and spring for 4 gig of ram, just to keep it at about the same price.

I did that, and i have a 1tb external HD for all my media and such anyways.

Just a recomendation. From what i hear SC2 is pretty CPU heavy and the i7 handles it pretty well (some say ultra settings no problem).

From what I heard, if you get the right drivers then you are looking at a 10% performance increase

I think so. I mean it is the newer chip, which means its got the shorter faster pipeline to process information.

But, the i5/core duo will play it too. Especially if you up the ram. just maybe not maxed from what i have read. There are a few benchmark videos on YouTube that can help you decide as well.

And battery life means nothing to me, especially on a gaming laptop. lol.

I think R2 is the best option only because of the newer options it comes with. For example Nvidia optimus (which still isn't the best) and Core i7 which is overclock to 2.8 (only if its stable for you).
