I've had this M11x r1 for quite awhile now, and a few months ago the keyboard backlight went out. All other lights still work, and can be changed, but the keyboard backlight does not work. I've bought a replacement and put it on, but the lights still wont come on. Any ideas what could be the issue?

sounds like a poorly seated keyboard connector at best. At worst though, could be a motherboard issue

I'm certain i seated the connector right. I was afraid it was the motherboard. Is it even possible to get these repaired anymore?

I know its been a while since I responded to your query but I doubt it's a motherboard failure. A problematic backlight should not be a reason for a failure. Added to that, I also felt like there were instances where I seated the cable perfectly but for some reason, a reseat did the job for me. Here's another tip, see if it helps. Try using an eraser to gently clean the contacts of the backlight power connector.

Apologies again for the delay in my response. I honestly get lost sometime :(

On the worst scenario the keyboard would need a replacement.
