After sending my laptop to dell 2 time with them only making my problems worse they have agreed to replace my laptop, in the mean time I have a m11x with a huge bubble in the keyboard and a lid that wont even close and the side coming apart.

Anyone got a idea what my replacement will be?

You could actually get an R3. I had an R2 replaced and got a decked out R3. The explanation I got is that Dell is no longer manufacturing R2s. Then again its a different scenario. To confirm go to "my Account" on dell.com and log in. Once you do go to shipping information (once they place the order it will tell you what kind you will be receiving). You will want to use internet explorer. Chrome doesn't like the Dell site.

Don't get your hopes up. Just sharing my experience.

I got a replacement for an R1 and it was an i5 R3, so - like DeeVu said - there's a chance you could jump a revision or two ;)

how did you get them to replace it? I have had multiple issues with my R1 (hinge problems, just had it replaced again today, 3 motherboards, etc.) and I have only owned it for 4 months....

    Are you sure it's a R3?
I was told the Core i3 versions
    are R2s.

what country are you in? and what cpu did the R1 have? I ask because I am getting my R1 replaced as well but the tech didnt know if it would be new or refurb (she said it would most likely be new) and asked me what I wanted on the nameplate. and that I would get it in 2-3 weeks. She told me she thought it would be the same model (if its new I dont know how this would be possible)

It was a Intel SU7300, I am from the UK. If its a new one you will get a R3 as they don't make R1's or R2's anymore.

I hope you are right! they asked me what I wanted on the name plate, so I wonder if that means I get a new one, she sounded confident that I would get a new one, but she said it would be the same model (makes no sense) but shes like "it could be refurb but I dont think so." She told me she might be wrong about the same model thing and she would update me if it was a different model.

Ask them for the spec, they should send you one on your email. I got to pick from a like to like replacement or a web upgrade replacement.

Edit: Also if your from the US you will get the r3 with a i5.
