    Hello everyone !

As i said previously , i tried to ask on " Dell Community forum " about 285.62 switchable drivers for the M11XR1.

I know that here , we can find homemade Optimus driver ( Greetings to dev ) , but it's not switchable. So , here's the link :

Re: Forget R1 users ? - Alienware Forum - Alienware Club - Dell Community

And what someone answer ? Dell wanted 129$ to create switchable drivers ? WHAT A SHAME ! Ask money to have up to date driver on a high end laptop ? No ! That suck !

Anyway , if it's the only way to get driver, i'm pretty sure the R1 community could gather 129$ , wich is , if we're more than 20 or 30 , really nothing.

    Any thoughts about this ?

Wait...they demand a money for a driver update?!
Look Dell, we realize that the M11x R1 is an older model, but that is no excuse for charging extra for a gosh darn driver!

I bought my R1, new, from Amazon.co.uk only 2-3 months ago - so they were selling it via a massive retailer with out-dated drivers!

I don't understand anything about drivers, but if an update would improve performance then I'd certainly chip in :)

wait what? you should post a link/scr shot of dell asking for that, thats messed up

that link says 129 to just TWEAK the drivers, so all theyll do is tell you to disable the switchable mode and install it, and charge ya for it

Hit F2 on startup - Select Discrete only
Install whatever driver you feel like from Nvidia's website
    ????
    Profit

Then you will discover that nearly all applications will run the same as they did with drivers from over a year ago. Chasing drivers is largely fruitless. Monitor the change log and if there is a fix you need then decide if discrete is the best choice for you.

I agree with amd, the fee was likely to disable switchable mode + time to download driver + install.

@Xaser : Yeah , play a bit , good FPS , then go to school , open word.

    Enjoy nearly half battery life.

    ... I bought my M11X for that ... :/ Planning on switching to an R3 , but that's still disgusting if it's true :(

Not too bad. If I calc my time and employee time to work this out and wait for a download on potentially slow connections it won't be free. They should simply give folks a how-to link
